North of Shoe Factory Road
This first image shows part of the work area where a brush pile is being burned.

These are box elder trees that have been cut.

Along the Bike Path North of the Carl R. Hanson Woods Parking Lot.
This is a common buckthorn that was previously cut. If herbicide was applied, this common buckthorn was not killed.

Here is a wider view of the above. The multi-stem common buckthorn is visible on the left. The entire area is full of woody brush. On the right are a lot of multiflora rose. Multiflora rose often grows under dead trees. The brush was too thick with too many thorns for me to get into the thicket to see if the cut stump of a larger tree was present. I need tough work clothes to traverse this mess.

Near The Middle of the Main Prairie
This is a group of pin oak. The one on the right was killed by fire several years ago.

West of Carl R. Hansen Woods Parking Lot
These are cottonwood trees that were killed a few years ago. I saw no evidence of girdling, so they likely were killed from burning the cattail marsh that is behind these trees and to the left.
