Pasque Flower Tour

Jack Shouba giving a poetic Native American description of Pasque Flower (Pulsatilla patens).

The first Pasque Flower I have ever seen in its native habitat.

Workday

After the wildflower walk, volunteers removing woody species (many were non-native invasive), along the fence at and near the entrance to the preserve.

One of the brush piles after unwanted trees, shrubs, and vines growing along the fence were removed looking toward the preserve entrance.

Looking from the preserve entrance toward the brush pile shown in the previous image. Another brush pile is visible in the background.

A brush pile visible in the background of the previous image along with a view of the fence along Flora Road. I circled in red an area where the vines and shrubs along the fence had not yet been removed (front) and trees had also not been removed (back) to give you an idea of how much work had to be done to clear woody vegetation along this fence.
